Handloomed in Sri Lanka, these beautiful 100% cotton throw pillow covers are made Fair Trade. Handloom is a centuries old traditional weaving method where a wooden loom is used to weave the cotton yarns without the use of electricity. Many of the artisans have had their skill passed down for generations. *Our looming partner is a World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) Guaranteed Fair Trade Enterprise. This means it is recognized as 'mission-led; putting people and planet first'. We are proud to enable employment and training in rural villages of Sri Lanka. The majority of our weavers are women who depend on handlooming as the main source of income to sustain their livelihood. **The cotton yarns and dye used are independently tested by a third party (KISCO of Singapore) to meet the requirements of OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and be free of harmful chemicals. From dying the yarn, spinning them for spools and weaving the fabric, ZENLUSSO handloom throw pillow covers are carefully handmade in small batches.

Uniquely handmade

Due to the covers being hand loomed, please allow for some unique variations. There might be slight imperfections in the weave that only adds to the authenticity and beauty of our covers being truly handmade and not mass manufactured in a factory line.

Laundry care

Do not machine wash. Spot cleaning is recommended. However, if the whole pillow cover needs cleaning, hand wash with a mild detergent, then lay flat or hang to dry. We make our covers 1 inch bigger on both sides to allow for any shrinkage from hand washing. We do not use any harsh chemicals that are skin irritants to pre-shrink as part of our OEKO-TEX compliance.

Handmade joy

Your purchase makes a direct positive impact by empowering women and rural communities in Sri Lanka where the tradition of handlooming has been passed down for generations.

WFTO Guaranteed Partner
Fair Trade

Handlooming is a centuries old traditional weaving method where a wooden loom is used to weave the cotton yarns without the use of electricity. Our looming partner based in the hometown of our co-founder is a World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) Guaranteed Fair Trade Enterprise. This means it is recognized as 'mission-led; putting people and planet first'. From dying the yarn, spinning them for spools and weaving the fabric, ZENLUSSO handloom throw pillow covers are carefully handmade in small batches.

Made in Sri Lanka

ZENLUSSO's founders are both originally from Sri Lanka. Given the recent political upheaval that started in March 2022 with the country declaring bankruptancy, we decided to source products from Sri Lanka to ease the strain and provide an opportunity for employment and financial independance to those most vulnerable in rural communities.
